Biography:

A highly successful entrepreneur and investor, Ted M. Abele received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics, with honors, in 1973 from the University of Missouri. Following graduation, he continued his studies at Texas A&M University, receiving a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1976.

After obtaining a M.Sc degree from Texas A&M, Ted served in both lending operations and management positions with the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of St. Louis and the Farm Credit Administration.  In 1979, he founded the American Agronomics Management Company, Inc. (AAMC), an agricultural consulting firm which provided nationwide financial, management, and marketing services.  Through his dedication and commitment, Ted successfully built AAMC into the largest Farm Management Company in the U.S. by 1986.

Presently, Ted serves as Chairman and CEO of Continental Capital Corporation, a private holding company he founded in 1989.  He also serves as a managing member of an acquisition and investment firm, as well as a managing director for a consulting firm.  He is also an active managing director in Sigma Development Company, a company he founded to develop student housing at the University of Missouri.

Mr. Abele continues to volunteer his time and makes trips to Texas A&M twice-yearly to mentor current students and to provide them with his expertise and advice.  He is among the department’s most active former students in supporting and mentoring current students.  Mr. Abele’s knowledge in real estate development, investing, and other entrepreneurial activities has placed him as an outstanding mentor for students in the department.  In addition to his commitment to the students, he also has served on the faculty of The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers and the Master Marketer Program.

Mr. Abele and his wife, Dr. Miriam Anderson, live in Belton, Missouri.  They have three children, Justin, Ashley, TAMU class of ’06, and Kelsey.
